This depends on the hardware and import method but on a low specification server using the auto importer with the file posted to a folder on its local network, 10,000 rows would normally be less than 10 minutes.

Yes, you set up a separate import folder, and can 'hard wire' the sample point, variable etc. for that folder

Cause:  This is usually due to the Windows Schedule running the Auto Importer pausing.

To test: First look at the properties of one of your imports, and check that the path to the import folder is the full path (i.e. server name/folder name) - not the local path (e.g. c:/my folder)

As long as it is the full path you can run a test from your PC.  Go Start... All Programmes... Monitor-Pro... MP-5 Tools... Run Importer (on this PC)

You should see the files start to move (may take a few minutes).  If they do then the first thing to do is contact your IT department to check that the Windows Schedule on the server that runs the importer is running and has the right permissions to continue running once they are logged out.

We are placing all system configuration options wherever possible in the MP-5 Control Panel.  This streamlines the interface for regularly used functionality.

The MP-5 importers are very flexible, and will import many data files unamended.

Many suppliers of monitoring equipment, monitoring contractors and laboratories will provide files designed for MP-5.  Here is a list.

Three layouts of file are common, those with parameters (variables) across the top, sample points across the top - or long list formats with one reading per row.

Header aliases are easily set up, for example where MP-5 may be expecting 'Date', but the file has 'DT', set up a header alias for this.

Object aliases can also be set up, for example 'Borehole 1' can have aliases of 'BH1', BH001', BH_01' and so on.

Absent columns can be 'virtually' added.  For example a weather station file is unlikely to provide information within the file of the name of the station.  This absent column can be automatically added to its files as they arrive.
